Mission and Values
Our Mission
Our mission is “to lead community efforts in the awareness and elimination of hunger in Monterey County.”
Statement of Values and Code of Ethics
In carrying out its mission, the Food Bank for Monterey County is committed to standards of performance represented by the following values in which we believe:
Integrity: The Food Bank for Monterey County will be open and honest in all relationships, dealings and transactions. The Food Bank for Monterey County will strive to earn and convey trust through openness and honesty.
Stewardship of Resources: The Food Bank for Monterey County will keep faith with the public trust through the efficient and compassionate use of resources entrusted to us. The Food Bank for Monterey County will strive to be mindful that the mission is accomplished through the generosity of others.
Accountability: The Food Bank for Monterey County will set clear standards for the benchmark against which to measure competence, efficiency, and effectiveness of mission. The Food Bank for Monterey County will embrace a twofold responsibility through accountability: first, for policy, decisions and actions; and second, for complete, accurate and clear record keeping to report information.
Service: The Food Bank for Monterey County will commit to provide excellent service. The Food Bank for Monterey County will continually strive to study, understand and meet the changing needs with competence and compassion.

The Emergency Food Assistance Program
The Emergency Food Assistance Program is the Food Bank’s largest supplemental food program.
The Family Market
The Family Market is the Food Bank’s produce-based direct distribution program.
The Agency Clearinghouse
The Agency Clearinghouse supplies food to nearly 90 other Monterey County nonprofit agencies.
