The Yellow Brick Road Thrift Shop Awards $3,000 to the Food Bank for Monterey County

– Jan 20, 2012

The Food Bank for Monterey County wishes to announce a $3,000 gift from the Yellow Brick Road Benefit Shop, opened in 1989 as a community outreach of Carmel Presbyterian Church. Net proceeds from sales of donated merchandise are returned to the community in the form of monthly grants to Monterey County non-profit organizations. As of mid-2011, we have given away over $4 million to wonderful local causes! Operating costs are kept to a minimum by 60 to 70 volunteers who work with sales or displays, or process donations. Volunteers are always needed and welcome. Please call 626-8480 and speak with a manager.
