• About 10% of Monterey County residents are over 65 years of age;

• 6.5% of seniors over 65 years of age are living at or below the poverty line;

• 40% of seniors over 65 have a disability; and

• 25% of grandparents living with children under 18 are the primary caregivers for those children.
